“Sara helped put on a beautiful party last night. It was the second big event she had planned this summer; our son got married last month.”

He further stated, “She’s always sacrificed so much for our family. It’s true: Beside every great man, there is an even greater woman.”

An Incident Just Before The Hall Of Fame Induction

Gil and his wife averted a potential catastrophe in 2019 just before being inducted into the Cowboy’s Hall of Fame. He was heading to his tailor to adjust the gold jacket for his special day.

A bullet entered their vehicle through the left windshield, targeting them. Sara was almost struck, but they both escaped unharmed.

Four years later, the Pro Football Hall of Famer died at 91 on August 31, 2023.

Despite his physical demise, the legend lives on in the memory of his wife Sara and son Hunter, who are both proud of his accomplishments.
